Auctions by Teleconference
Auctioning by teleconference is a great way to open up your sales to bidders you would not normally be able to reach. Anyone, anywhere, can call into your auction and grab the sale!
Before the Auction:
Each caller should register with the hosting auctioneer or house. After the participant has registered with the auction house, the toll-free number and 5-digit passcode can be issued to the caller.
Make a reservation for service with ConferenceCall.com. We will schedule an operator to assist with the auction (Operator Assisted). A list of the registered callers should be faxed to the operator at least 2 hours before the start of the auction.
Calling In:
Lines open 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the auction. Participants should call in early, and register their name with the operator.
During the Auction:
Call-in participants will be able to hear the auction through the conference, but will not be able to speak into the auction. They will place bids by alerting the operator via touch-tone controls on their telephone. The operator will be on-line with an assistant at the auction to notify them of bids placed by telephone participants.
To place a bid:
- Participants should touch "1" on their telephone keypad to bid the amount called.
- To place a bid for a different amount, press "0", and the operator will take the bid from the caller.
- If the bid is won by a call-in participant, the auctioneer's assistant will be connected to the caller who placed the winning bid.
We are always happy to customize this process to suit your needs. Please notify our offices of any special requirements at least one business day before the auction takes place.
